Queer Protest - The Aftermath...

Well.

What to say? Other than thanks to everyone for a fantastic day and night of political ponderings and partying!

During the afternoon, we watched documentaries on the pre-Stonewall riot at Compton's Cafeteria in San Francisco in 1966, LGBT youth homelessness in the USA, the stigma and oppression facing LGBT sex workers and hate crime awareness.

We also had talks from Steve Slack on Edward Carpenter, Thordis Sveinsdottir  on the criminalisation of sex work, and members of QASH - Queer Agenda Sheffield, discussing workplace discrimination.

Then, in the evening we had amazing music from Faerground Accidents, Chicks with Decks, INVERT and stellar performances from Vermilda Hyde, Penny Slotz and Gender Prince.

Throughout the day and night we had attendees make their own protest signs - there were some incredible contributions!

So there you have it. Fun times, with meaning. If you weren't there, you missed out. So keep up to date with us so you don't miss the next one!
