Queer Protest - Saturday 3 October 2015

ROLL UP, ROLL UP!

For our third instalment, LGBT Sheffield and INVERT are honoured to be teaming up with the mighty FAERGROUND ACCIDENTS to bring you a whole day and night of queer fun.

In the daytime we will be bringing you a number of documentaries focusing on the protest traditions of LGBTQ community and also talks focusing on some issues we think deserve our attention. These range from queer sex workers to LGBTQ homelessness and the continuing destructive views of the church towards our community. It's time to remember what we have got to be mad about.

#BiVisibilityDay 2015 - Wednesday 23 September

There's a whole day dedicated to raising awareness of the issues and stigma still faced by bisexual people. But what is it, and why is it needed?

Bisexuality is still widely misunderstood, misrepresented and stigmatised.

Bisexual people are too often perceived as uncertain, confused or simply 'greedy'. These offensive myths are often perpetuated to such an extent that it is hard for bisexual people to be listened to or regarded with respect from the wider populace. These myths also impact on bisexual individuals' access to vital public and health services, as well as their performance in the workplace.

Exposed Magazine - LGBT+ column: September 2015

Exposed Magazine - LGBT+ column: September 2015

Our very own Heather Paterson has a new, regular LGBT+ column in Exposed Magazine - Sheffield's premier, free listings/events/culture magazine.

This month, Heather muses on our little weird but wonderful scene here in Sheffield, and some potential growth, with a focus on some of the exciting developments coming up.

Have a read of August's full LGBT+ column here.

Keep an eye out for this and future issues, distributed widely around Sheffield's shops, pubs, cafés, bars and venues.
